About the Petoskey Stone Coaster by Shoreline Gems
Each Petoskey Stone Coaster features several Petoskey Stones surrounded by a variety of smaller stones set in epoxy. The coaster has a cork back and measures 4 inches in diameter with a height of 5/8 inch.
Due to the natural variations in the fossilized coral structure of a Petoskey stone, no two are exactly alike, meaning each stone has a unique pattern and appearance making each coaster distinct from one another.
The stones are collected along the shores of Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.
Petoskey stones are Michigan’s state stone and are over 350 million years old. Believed to be a positive energy stone, they are not a natural stone but rather a fossilized coral only found in the northern portions of Michigan’s lower peninsula.
