About Redfelr Hot Sauce
Redfelr Hot Sauce is locally made and locally sourced with a flavor-first approach that prioritizes taste over intensity. The bottle says it best: “sun reddened serranos and crisp orchard fresh apples – harvested, fermented and aged through the autumn equinox”. The perfect topping for pizza, omelets and other meals. Redfelr began ten years ago in Detroit, Michigan as a home-made hot sauce for friends and family. As the recipe was refined and perfected, it was offered as a commercial product.
The process begins with the onset of Autumn, when fresh orchard apples are plentiful and Michigan’s Serrano crops have ripened to red. These two elements form the bedrock of the Redfelr flavor, together with habanero and sweet onions. The ingredients are carefully jarred in small batches and fermented. This process forms a bright, pickled undertone that strengthens the flavor of the sauce.
