Alder wood is beautiful with rich wood grains and different coloring on every board. Each board is handmade and unique in its own way which makes each serving board one of a kind. Finished with 2 coats of food safe mineral oil and buffed with beeswax, each board showcases the rich grain and variations of the wood along with the visual appeal of the epoxy resin.
¹NOTE: This product is made to order and will require 1 – 2 weeks of production prior to shipping. Wood is a natural and unique material and every hand-crafted piece will be slightly different. The product you receive will be the same shape, size, and relative color as the image, but natural grain and epoxy resin differences may occur between the picture on the listing and the product you receive.
All Charcuterie Boards are handmade with pride in Traverse City Michigan. This piece is crafted from natural solid Alder wood, locally northern Michigan sourced and professionally kiln dried. The color and character of wood grain may vary, adding a unique character to your piece. All boards are finished with 2 coats food safe mineral oil and buffed with beeswax. Gentle hand wash only. Apply mineral oil or cutting board oil periodically depending on use.
Mineral oil acts as a water repellent and will keep your board hydrated for long periods of time. Lack of oiling results in cracks, warps, splits. Oiling your board a couple times a month will keep it healthy.
To clean lightly, hand wipe with soap and water. Wood is a natural material and tends to expand and contract. Too much moisture is the cause of cracks and splits. It is recommended that you don’t store the board until it’s completely dry.
CARE & USE
- Do not use cleaning chemicals as this will dull the finish over time, especially the epoxy part of the board.
- Clean with a damp cloth and warm soapy water.
- Apply mineral oil or butcher block oil every week or two depending on use.
- Do not cut on these boards or use any sharp utensils on these boards. These are for serving and home décor use only. Cutting on the epoxy or wood will scratch the surface and dull your knife.
- Do not place hot food directly on the epoxy.
