About Great Lakes Platter Fused Glass by Twirling Frog Studio
The fused glass Great Lakes Platter measures 6 x 10 and features the Great Lakes in a variety of colors. This platter is great to serve snacks and appetizers while watching one of Michigan’s awesome sport teams. It is also a perfect decorative item on a table or counter-top. The platter is food safe. Do not put the platter in the dishwasher, microwave, or oven.
These Great Lakes Platters are 100% glass. A finely ground glass powder is used to manipulate the shape of Michigan’s Great Lakes. Each sheet of glass is hand selected for color to achieve the final product. The glass is hand cut and layered then placed in a kiln and fired for about 24 hours. Depending on the end product, it can go in to the kiln up to 5 times to reach the final outcome. Each Great Lakes Platter is unique and no two are exactly alike.
