About Black Walnut Charcuterie Board Petoskey Stones by TC Outpost
This Black Walnut Charcuterie Board features Petoskey Stones and Lake Michigan stones in a river of translucent blue epoxy resin. Accented with metal handles and non-slip rubber bumper feet, the serving board measures 20″ x 11″ x .75″.
Each piece is handmade to bring out the natural beauty of the grain. A high quality crystal clear epoxy resin is used to embed the stones within the board and to fill any knots or cracks in the wood.
Each board is coated with food safe mineral oil to seal and protect. Carnauba wax is buffed and polished into the wood for a beautiful sheen.
¹NOTE: This product is made to order and will require 1 – 2 weeks of production prior to shipping. Wood is a natural and unique material and every hand-crafted piece will be slightly different. The product you receive will be the same shape, size, and relative color as the image, but natural grain and epoxy resin differences may occur between the picture on the listing and the product you receive. Just as in nature, every tree is different and every slab is different. Knotty alder is beautiful with rich wood grains and different coloring on each and every board. Each handmade Charcuterie Board is unique in it’s own way, so you essentially have a one of a kind board made especially just for you.
All Charcuterie Boards are handmade with pride in Traverse City Michigan. This piece is crafted from northern Michigan sourced solid Black Walnut wood and professionally kiln dried. The color and character of wood grain may vary, adding a unique character to your piece. All boards are finished with 2 coats food safe mineral oil and buffed with beeswax.
Care & Use:
Gentle hand wash only with damp cloth and warm soapy water. Wood is a natural material and tends to expand and contract. Too much moisture will cause cracks and splits. Store the board when it is completely dry. Do not cut on these boards or use any sharp utensils on these boards. These Charcuterie Boards are for serving and home décor only. Do not place hot food directly on the epoxy. Apply mineral oil or cutting board oil periodically depending on use.
Maintenance:
- Use mineral oil or butcher block oil only. Avoid cooking oils as these can become rancid.
- Let the oil absorb for at least six hours. For better results let it sit overnight.
- Wipe off any remaining oil using a dry clean cloth.
Mineral oil is a water repellent and will keep your board hydrated for long periods of time. Oil your board a couple times a month to keep it healthy.
