The stones are collected along the shores of northern Lake Michigan.
Petoskey stones are Michigan’s state stone and are over 350 million years old. Believed to be a positive energy stone, they are not a natural stone but rather a fossilized coral only found in the northern portions of Michigan’s lower peninsula.
