What is Fordite?
Fordite, also known as Motor Agate, is a unique automotive enamel material with an interesting history. Fordite doesn’t come from the earth like copper or silver; In fact, this material may be even be more rare than diamonds! It is created from over-spray of Vintage and Classic vehicles that were painted the old fashion way. These many layers were repeatedly baked in the bays and then removed when the paint bays were cleaned. When this technique of painting cars stopped, so did the production of Fordite, which is in limited supply!Back to Top
